Meet Our Lead Pastor

Matt Ferguson began serving as the Lead Pastor of HRCC in May of 2025. His heart is to help all people see how great and satisfying God is in all areas of life. Desiring to teach the Bible clearly and faithfully, he seeks to joyfully proclaim the saving and life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. Matt believes that the greatest joy in life comes from knowing and loving God and that God is most glorified in us when we find our greatest joy in Him. This pursuit of God thrives in a truth and grace-saturated Church where flawed sinners can grow together in community marked by the love of Jesus Christ.

Born and raised in Clearwater, FL, Matt has had a heart for pastoral ministry since his teen years and has regularly served in the church since then. He earned a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Bethlehem College & Seminary in 2023, followed by a Master of Theology (ThM) in 2025.

Matt married Christy in 2016, and they have three sons and a daughter who keep them busy. He enjoys reading, personal finance, and pizza of all qualities. Some of his favorite pastimes include having good conversations over coffee and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Matt would be happy to get to know you or answer any questions you may have about God, the Bible, or HRCC.
